LA Gay Clubs Guide: Best Dance Floors in Los Angeles

· findlucid

Your LA gay clubs guide for gay dating in Los Angeles: Micky's and SweetWater in West Hollywood, Club Cobra in North Hollywood, and Falcon North in Long Beach, with addresses, hours, and a night plan.

Los Angeles does dance floors like nowhere else. The gay clubs run from two story boulevard mega rooms in West Hollywood to a Latin dance hall in North Hollywood to a warehouse sized floor in Long Beach, and every room has its own tribe, its own music, and its own peak hour.

Every club in this guide is 21 and over and open now. Hours and theme nights change by season, so check the venue page the week you go out.

Pick one district per night. West Hollywood, North Hollywood, and Long Beach each hold a full night on their own, and the drives between them will eat your best hours.

Micky's WeHo: the boulevard flagship

Micky's at 8857 Santa Monica Blvd is the boulevard flagship, pouring since 1989. Two stories of dance floor, drag shows, go-go dancers, and a young, high energy crowd. It opens at noon on weekends and runs to 4 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, with a 2 AM close the rest of the week.

Friday and Saturday are the peak. Arrive before 11:30 PM to beat the worst of the line, and expect a cover that varies by night and event.

The Abbey and The Chapel: the Robertson landmark

A block off the boulevard, The Abbey at 692 N Robertson Blvd and its sister room The Chapel at 696 N Robertson Blvd form the most famous gay nightlife complex in the country. Founded as a coffee shop in 1991, it sold to new ownership in 2023. The Abbey mixes a big patio, dining, and dancing until 2 AM daily, while The Chapel hosts themed nights and DJs in a gothic chapel setting.

SweetWater WeHo: the newest room on the strip

SweetWater at 8869 Santa Monica Blvd is the boulevard's newest room, a lesbian owned nightclub that soft opened for Pride weekend in June 2026 and held its grand opening that July. It centers sapphic and queer women while welcoming everyone, with two bars, a front patio, and a proper dance floor. Listed hours run Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday 6 PM to midnight, and Friday and Saturday 6 PM to 2 AM.

Club Cobra: Latin club energy in North Hollywood

Club Cobra at 10937 Burbank Blvd is North Hollywood's Latin gay nightclub, running since 2006: reggaeton, Latin pop, club hits, go-go dancers, drag shows, and a big patio. Thursday is TransFix, its long running trans night. Listed hours run Thursday 10 PM to 2 AM, Friday 9 PM to 2 AM, and Saturday 8:30 PM to 2 AM, and the floor peaks after midnight.

The Bullet Bar: the Valley leather classic

A few blocks away at 10522 Burbank Blvd, The Bullet Bar is the Valley's classic leather bar: a renovated front barroom, a back patio, karaoke and drag nights, and a loyal local crowd, open daily from noon to 2 AM. It is less a mega club than a community room that happens to dance, and it pairs perfectly with Cobra in one night.

Falcon North: Long Beach's big room

Falcon North at 2020 E Artesia Blvd calls itself Long Beach's premier nightclub, and the room backs it up: a massive dance floor, a new video wall, all star DJs, and themed nights including Latin leather parties. Listed hours run Thursday to Saturday 7 PM to 2 AM and Sunday 3 PM to 2 AM. The Sunday parties have a devoted following, and the room is worth the drive on its own.

The Men's Room Bar: Broadway's playful newcomer

Back on the Broadway corridor, The Men's Room Bar at 1744 E Broadway opened in 2023 in the former Brit space: a kitschy gay nightclub with craft cocktails, a dance floor, and a popular patio. Listed hours run Monday to Thursday 4 PM to 2 AM and Friday to Sunday noon to 2 AM. Playful where Falcon North is spectacle, it is the friendliest first stop in Long Beach.

An LA club night: the plan

  • Start in one district and stay there: West Hollywood, North Hollywood, or Long Beach each fill a night.
  • In WeHo, do drinks at The Abbey, dance at Micky's, and save SweetWater for a Friday or Saturday late set.
  • In NoHo, start at The Bullet Bar's afternoon patio, then cross to Club Cobra after 11 PM when the floor fills.
  • In Long Beach, start at The Men's Room Bar, then close at Falcon North, which runs to 2 AM.
  • Buy presale for special events and holiday weekends, rideshare between rooms, pace yourself, and plan the ride home before the last round.
