1. Who can use findlucid.com
findlucid.com is strictly 18+. By creating an account or joining the waitlist you confirm you are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. You must provide your real date of birth during account setup; our systems reject anyone under 18, and accounts found to be underage are removed. You can hide your displayed age from other users in Settings, but the 18+ requirement always applies. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and our service is not directed to children.
2. Your account
You can create an account with an email and password, or sign in with a passwordless link sent to your email. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, never as plain text. Keep access to your email secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. Creating your account records your acceptance of these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
3. Be real, and what verification means
findlucid.com is built on honest profiles. You agree to be who you say you are, to keep your stated intent current, and not to impersonate anyone. What "Verified" means, and what it does not mean. "Verified" means the member completed a live selfie check and a member of our team reviewed that selfie before the profile appeared in discovery. Our reviewers check that the selfie shows a live person who appears to be an adult. Your date of birth is entered by you; we do not require government ID to verify, and verification is not an identity check, an age certification, or a background check. It does not certify that any profile detail is accurate. Verification is biometric: before you submit your selfie, you sign a written consent notice describing exactly what we collect. From your selfie we compute a face template (a string of numbers describing your face geometry, not a photo) and a fraud check value (a one-way code used only to flag the same photo submitted under different accounts). In limited cases we may ask for a photo of a government ID. Its image, ID number and any data read from it are permanently deleted at the moment of decision. If a reviewer judges that a selfie shows an apparent minor, we reject the verification, delete the selfie and any template made from it, and handle the account under our 18+ rule. Your selfie is encrypted and is permanently destroyed the moment a decision is recorded; if your verification is approved we keep only your encrypted face template and the fraud check value, until you delete your account, verify again, or three years pass. We never sell your biometric data and never use it to train models or for advertising. Full details are in Privacy Policy section 17.
4. Be decent
No harassment, hate, threats, or non-consensual content. You may not aid, abet, encourage, or facilitate abuse or exploitation of any person, on or off findlucid.com. No spam, scams, or commercial solicitation. No sexual content involving anyone under 18, ever. No sex trafficking, prostitution, or commercial sexual activity: you may not use findlucid.com to buy or sell sexual services, recruit or advertise for sexual services, or facilitate, promote, or profit from the sexual exploitation of any person. We report suspected sex trafficking and sexual exploitation to the National Human Trafficking Hotline and to law enforcement, and suspected child sexual exploitation to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. We may warn, suspend, ban, or delete any account that breaks these rules or that we believe threatens the safety of our community, at our sole discretion, with or without notice. Deleted accounts lose their profile, matches, and messages permanently. Non-consensual intimate images. If an intimate image of you was shared on findlucid.com without your consent, tell us at support@findlucid.com with a link or description of the content. We review valid requests and remove confirmed non-consensual intimate imagery within 48 hours, as the federal TAKE IT DOWN Act requires. Reporting does not require an account.
5. Content you share
You keep ownership of the content you post. You give us a license to host, store, copy, display, and process it as needed to run and protect the service: showing it to the members you choose, human and automated moderation (including the photo flag described in the Privacy Policy), backups, notifications, and processing by the service providers listed in the Privacy Policy. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups that roll off on the schedule stated in the Privacy Policy and copies we must keep by law.
6. Referrals and bonuses
Verified members get a personal referral link in Settings and on their profile. Share it with friends. Joining FindLucid is always free. Right now, a friend who joins and finishes verification within 14 days gets 60 days of Plus free under the founding offer, the same offer open to everyone. When a friend who joined through your link finishes verification, you earn 30 days of Plus. You earn nothing when a friend only signs up. Earned days are added to the end of any Plus time you already have. If you pay for Plus, earned days are saved and start when your paid time ends. If you do not have Plus, earned days start right away. Earned time is never charged and never renews. You can earn up to 12 referral rewards in a calendar month. Your saved Plus time can hold up to 12 months; a reward that would pass that limit is not granted. If we later find that a friend's account was fake and take back their verification, we also take back the 30 days you earned from it, from days you have not used yet. Days you already used are not taken back, and you are never charged for them. Referral rewards are free Plus time only: they are never paid out in cash or credit. If you hold Founding Membership, referral rewards have no value to you. When you post your link in public, say clearly that you earn Plus time if a friend joins and verifies. We may change or end the referral program at any time; rewards already granted are honored, except rewards taken back under the fake-account rule above. If you join through a member's link, that member can suggest a short line for your profile. It shows only if you approve it, and you can edit or remove it anytime. Share links. From time to time we give a community, such as fraternities and sororities, college clubs, or singles clubs, a share link to pass along (for example, findlucid.com/?ref=GREEK). If you join FindLucid through a share link and finish verification, you get 6 months of Plus free (182 days), starting the day your verification is approved. No card is needed; the time never renews and is never charged. We do not check whether you belong to the community the link was shared with: anyone who joins through the link and finishes verification gets the 6 months. One share-link grant per account. A share link is not a member's referral link: joining through one earns nobody a referral reward, and sharing one earns the sharer nothing. If you already hold Plus that runs longer, the longer time stands. Share-link time does not add to other free Plus time, such as the founding offer or the selfie bonus; whichever time runs longer is the time that stands. We may stop offering a share link at any time; grants already recorded are honored.
7. Non-discrimination
findlucid.com does not discriminate. We provide the service without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age (subject to the 18+ requirement), disability, religion, or any other characteristic protected by law. This applies to membership and use of the service.
8. The service as-is
FindLucid is under active development. Free features and features marked as beta are provided as they are, and may change or be interrupted while we build. This paragraph does not reduce any promise we make for a paid plan, including Plus and Founding Membership.
9. Meeting people is on you: peer to peer
findlucid.com introduces people; what happens next is peer to peer. What "Verified" means, and what it does not mean. Our reviewers check that the selfie shows a live person who appears to be an adult. Your date of birth is entered by you; we do not require government ID to verify, and verification is not an identity check, an age certification, or a background check. It does not certify that any profile detail is accurate. FindLucid is a way to meet people; we are not a party to your meetings and we do not control other members' conduct. We are not responsible for harm caused by another member's conduct, except where the law does not allow that limit. Nothing in these Terms limits our responsibility for our own misrepresentations, our gross negligence or intentional misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited by law. Every member must use their own discretion: meet in public, tell someone where you are going, and trust your instincts.
10. Affiliate links
Some travel links on findlucid.com (for example, hotel and flight links on the Travel page) are affiliate links. If you book through one, the travel provider may pay findlucid.com a commission at no extra cost to you. We don't control the provider's site, prices, or booking terms.
11. Attacks on findlucid.com
Do not attack findlucid.com. If we verify that you carried out a cyber attack or threat against findlucid.com's web app, sites, databases, or users, and we can attribute it to you, all three of the following happen: (1) you lose the privacy protections in these Terms and our Privacy Policy to the extent the law allows, which means we may share what we know about you, including your account information, IP addresses, and device information, with legal authorities; (2) we ban every identifying marker tied to you, including your accounts, IP addresses, and device fingerprints; (3) we report the attack to the legal authorities of the jurisdiction that applies, whether state, local, national, or international. Suspicion is not enough. We act only after we have verified the attack and identified who is responsible. This applies to members, employees, and outside attackers alike.
12. Verification deadline
You must complete verification within 30 days of creating your account. The 30-day clock starts when your account is created. What "Verified" means, and what it does not mean. "Verified" means the member completed a live selfie check and a member of our team reviewed that selfie before the profile appeared in discovery. Our reviewers check that the selfie shows a live person who appears to be an adult. Your date of birth is entered by you; we do not require government ID to verify, and verification is not an identity check, an age certification, or a background check. It does not certify that any profile detail is accurate. 'Pending' means you submitted your selfie and it is waiting for our team's review. On day 21 and day 28, if you are still unverified and your verification is not pending, we warn you by email and by a notice inside the web app; each notice names the exact date your account will be deleted. If your verification is pending when the 30 days run out, the clock restarts and runs 30 days from the day your review is decided; a review that stays pending keeps your account alive, and we will tell you the new deletion date in the day 21 and day 28 notices. On day 30, if you are still unverified, we permanently delete your account: your profile, photos, matches, messages, and verification submissions, including any face data, are destroyed. We keep only a pseudonymous security log row (the action, a coded user id, a reason code, and the timestamp), with no biometrics. You may create a brand-new account with the same email at any time; we keep no ban list for this policy. Members with an active paid plan (Plus, or Founding Membership while it is in effect) are exempt from automatic deletion. This policy took effect on October 3, 2026; accounts created before that date got their 30 days from October 3, 2026, and existing members were notified by email.
13. New York: dating-service disclosures
New York law sets special rules for paid social-referral services (New York General Business Law Section 394-c), and findlucid.com follows them for New York members. No findlucid.com contract may total more than $1,000, and no findlucid.com contract may last longer than two years. You have cancellation and refund rights under New York law; when you cancel as the law allows, we honor it and refund what you paid as the law requires. You also have the Dating Service Consumer Bill of Rights. If you believe a member is committing fraud, report them with the report button in the web app or by emailing support@findlucid.com; we review fraud reports and act on them under our safety process.
14. New Jersey: safety-awareness notice
New Jersey's Internet Dating Safety Act (N.J.S.A. 56:8-171 and the sections that follow it) requires online dating services to post safety-awareness information and to state clearly whether they conduct criminal background screenings. findlucid.com does not conduct criminal background screenings on members. What "Verified" means, and what it does not mean. "Verified" means the member completed a live selfie check and a member of our team reviewed that selfie before the profile appeared in discovery. Our reviewers check that the selfie shows a live person who appears to be an adult. Your date of birth is entered by you; we do not require government ID to verify, and verification is not an identity check, an age certification, or a background check. It does not certify that any profile detail is accurate. It does not check criminal history, and it does not make any member safe to meet. Safer-dating practices: meet in a public place the first time; tell a friend where you are going and when you expect to return; arrange your own transportation; do not share financial information, your home address, or account passwords; trust your instincts and end the interaction if something feels wrong; report suspicious behavior with the report button in the web app or to support@findlucid.com.
15. Subscriptions and automatic renewal
findlucid.com Plus is a subscription at $9.99 per month. It renews automatically each month at $9.99 until you cancel. We charge the payment method you gave us on the same day of the month as your first charge. Before you subscribe, we show you the price, that the subscription renews automatically, and how to cancel, and we ask for your separate, affirmative consent to automatic renewal with an unchecked box; checkout cannot proceed without it. We keep a record of your consent, including the terms you saw and when you saw them. After you subscribe, we email you an acknowledgment you can keep, with the renewal terms, the cancellation policy, and how to cancel. We also email you once a year reminding you that your subscription renews and how to cancel, and we give you advance notice before any material change to your subscription terms, such as a price change, takes effect. Cancel anytime online: open findlucid.com, go to Settings, then Manage billing. No phone call is needed. When you cancel, you keep Plus until the end of the billing period you already paid for, and we email you a cancellation confirmation. Amounts already charged are not refunded except where the law requires it. What each plan includes is listed on the pricing page. Verification, the map, matching, and chat are always free. So are date safety plans, check-ins, and the safety button. Plus adds extras: seeing who liked you, first pairing in the main speed-date round plus a second round each night, a daily drop of 10 instead of 5, advanced filters, ghost mode, planning a date together in a shared Concierge room (Plan Together), and Roommates connections after your first one. Referral rewards of free Plus time end automatically when the reward period ends; they never convert to a paid subscription and never charge you.
16. How matching works
findlucid.com's discovery is simple and transparent. To choose which profiles to show you, we use only the following, in this order. First, eligibility: the profile must be verified, must not be blocked by or blocking you, and must not already be liked, passed, or matched by you. Second, shared intent: you must share at least one stated intent (Dates, NSA, Friends, Relationship, Events, Roommates); the compatibility score shown on a card measures the real overlap between your stated intents and theirs. Third, proximity: nearest first, within the visibility radius you set. Fourth, recency: the most recently active profile first when distance is equal. Fifth, your filters: age range, sobriety, gender, orientation, relationship style, drinking preference, and visibility radius always apply. We do not use behavioral profiling or advertising data to order discovery. Paid membership never moves your profile higher in the discovery feed, and we do not sell placement in the feed. Plus does include priority inside the speed-date rounds (first pairing in the main round, plus a second round each night) and a larger daily drop (10 instead of 5). Those are the only ordering advantages any paid plan gives. You control the main parameters through your profile settings, your filters, and ghost mode (Plus). The EU Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065), Article 27, requires online platforms to disclose the main parameters of their recommender systems and to offer options to modify them; this section is that disclosure. Your discovery filters (including age range, gender, and orientation) apply only to dating discovery. They never apply to Roommates. Roommates matching uses only the listing and logistics answers described in the Roommates section, and never uses age, sex, sexual orientation, or any other protected trait as a matching input.
17. Marketing imagery
Some images on our site and in our marketing that do not depict real members, such as brand ambassador and promotional imagery created by our marketing team, may be AI-generated. This imagery is illustrative only and never represents a real member, match, or message sender.
18. Changes
If we make a material change to these Terms, we will email you at least 14 days before it takes effect and post the new version here with its date. Continuing to use findlucid.com after that date means you accept the change. No change reduces the rights of existing Founding Members under the Founding Membership section without their consent, except as required by law.
19. Geographic availability
findlucid.com is not offered in every country. We do not provide our services in India, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, or Malaysia, because our payment processor does not support dating and matchmaking services in those countries. We block access to findlucid.com from those locations. If our payment options change, we will update this section.
20. Photos, events, and event images
Photos. In a private chat, a photo the sender's device flags as explicit arrives blurred; tap to view it. A public profile photo flagged as showing nudity is shown blurred to other members until they tap to view it. A flag is automatic and it can be wrong. It can miss an explicit photo, and it can flag a photo that is not explicit. It is not a rule violation, and it never by itself blocks or penalizes anyone or creates a report. A member can still report a photo, and section 4 still applies. In your profile settings you can turn on 'NSFW is ok' (off by default) to see flagged photos unblurred. Private photos always need the owner's permission first, whatever your setting says. Photos cannot be sent in group-session chats. You can still add a photo to a group listing; that photo has its own review. Events. RSVPing to an event also saves it for you. You choose whether your saved events show on your profile; the choice is off by default. Removing your RSVP or turning the choice off removes the event from your profile. Event images. Some event listings show an illustration instead of a photo. The image alt text calls it an illustration. An illustration is a generic image matched to the event's theme. It is not a photo of that event or of a past edition of it.
21. Roommates
Roommates helps verified members find shared housing in New York City. You can list a room in a home you live in, post that you need a room, or team up with other members to look for a place together. It is for people who will live together. We are not a landlord, broker, or rental service. Matching uses logistics only: neighborhood, budget, move-in window, length of stay, cleanliness, sleep and guest patterns, smoking, and pets. findlucid.com follows federal, New York State, and New York City fair housing law. We never ask for, require, or use race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, family status, disability, age, marital status, lawful source of income, or any other protected trait in roommate listings, filters, search, or matching. If your profile states any of these, that is always your choice, and Roommates never uses it. You may not publish a statement that refuses, discourages, or prefers people based on a protected trait. Statements like that are blocked automatically or held for human review before they can appear. Browsing listings and posting your own are free for verified members. Your first roommate connection is free. After that, connecting with other members through Roommates is a FindLucid Plus feature. Roommates moves no money. We collect no rent, deposits, or fees, and we run no background checks. You arrange rent and every other housing term directly with the other member. Stay safe: never pay a deposit before you have seen the room and signed an agreement, and treat any request to wire money or pay by gift card as a scam.
22. Founding Membership
What it is. Founding Membership is a one-time payment of $149 (plus any applicable tax) that gives you the Plus Core Features listed in Schedule A below for the Lifetime Term. It is not a subscription. We will never charge you again for the Plus Core Features, and nothing renews automatically. What "lifetime" means here. "Lifetime" and "Lifetime Term" mean the Service Life: the period during which FindLucid operates the service and offers Plus (or a successor paid tier that includes the Plus Core Features) to the public, and in no event less than 60 months from your purchase date. It does not mean your lifetime, and we do not promise the service will operate forever. Minimum guarantee and refund. If we permanently discontinue the service, discontinue Plus without a comparable successor, or materially reduce a Plus Core Feature and do not cure the reduction within 30 days of your notice (each a "Discontinuance"), and the Discontinuance takes effect within 60 months of your purchase date, we will refund the unearned part of your payment: $149 x (months remaining in the 60-month period / 60), to your original payment method within 30 days. We will give you at least 90 days' notice by email and in the app before any Discontinuance. If a Discontinuance takes effect after the 60-month period, no refund is due under this paragraph. Plus Core Features and Schedule A. The Plus Core Features are: seeing who liked you, including prompt-answer likes; first pairing in the main speed-date round plus a second speed-date round each night; a daily drop of 10; advanced filters; ghost mode; Roommates connections after your first free one; and trusted-contact SMS alerts, when that feature ships. This list is Schedule A as of your purchase date, and we email it to you with your receipt. We may improve, rename, redesign, or reorganize features. We will not remove a Plus Core Feature, or move it into a separately priced add-on, unless we replace it with a reasonably comparable feature at no extra charge or refund you under the minimum guarantee above. New products and services that are not Plus Core Features may be priced separately. Free features stay free. Verification, the map, matching, chat, date safety plans, check-ins, and the safety button remain free and are not Founding benefits. Changes to this section. We will not change this section in a way that reduces your Founding Membership without your consent, except as required by law, and we will tell you by email if the law requires a change. Cancellation and refunds. You may cancel within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, no questions asked, in Settings, then Manage billing, or by emailing support@findlucid.com. No phone call is required. After that, refunds are limited to those described in this section or required by law. If your state gives you a longer or additional cancellation or refund right, including on death, disability, or relocation, that right applies and is not limited by this section. Termination. We may suspend or end your Founding Membership if you materially violate these Terms. Where practicable we will give you notice and a chance to respond; we may act immediately where safety requires. If we end your membership for a reason other than your violation, we will refund you under the minimum guarantee. If we end it for your violation, no refund is owed except where the law requires one. Plus subscribers. If you have an active Plus subscription when you buy Founding Membership, we cancel the subscription as of the purchase date and credit the unused part of the current billing period to your account. Verification. Founding Membership does not require selfie verification or any biometric data. You must still complete verification to appear in discovery, as section 3 describes. While your Founding Membership is in effect, you are exempt from the 30-day automatic deletion for unverified accounts in section 12. Deleting a face template, whether on withdrawal of consent or after three years of inactivity, does not end your Founding Membership, but features that depend on verification will pause until you verify again. Not transferable; ends at death. Founding Membership is personal to you, one per person. It cannot be sold, gifted, or inherited, and it ends when your account is closed or deleted, when you die, or at the end of the Lifetime Term. If we are sold. If FindLucid is acquired or its business is transferred, the successor must honor Founding Memberships on these terms. Limited offer. We will sell up to 500 Founding Memberships. Founding Membership may not be offered where law prohibits it. Records. We email you a receipt that includes this section and Schedule A when you buy, and we keep the purchase record for 7 years, as the Privacy Policy describes. This section is the complete description of the Founding Member offer. Nothing in this section limits rights you have under state or federal law.
