findlucid is a live dating web app (findlucid.com). Trust and safety is core to the product. This training program teaches you how T&S works at a consumer web app through study, supervised practice, and mentorship. Trainees do not make live enforcement decisions alone.
Training program
- Study community guidelines, policy writing, and enforcement frameworks
- Shadow moderation workflows and verification reviews with the founder
- Practice exercises on sample content with detailed feedback (no solo live decisions)
- Draft and improve safety knowledge-base articles as learning exercises
- Learn escalation judgment: what is urgent, what is not, and why
12-month training curriculum
A year-long education in trust and safety operations at a live dating web app: policy study, supervised moderation exercises on sample content, safety knowledge-base work, and mentorship in the judgment that keeps members safe. Trainees never make live enforcement decisions alone.
Part-time, about 10 to 15 hours a week, fully remote. Weekly 1:1 mentorship with the founder. Personal learning plan set in week 1 and reviewed monthly.
Phase 1: Foundations (weeks 1 to 4)
Week 1: findlucid mission and the stakes of safety
- Study findlucid's mission, member promises, and why trust and safety is core to a dating web app.
- Learn the remote tooling and the confidential way safety cases are handled.
- Meet your mentor, agree on your weekly schedule, and write your personal learning plan.
- Read the intern handbook and the confidentiality rules for sensitive case material.
Week 2: Policy foundations
- Study findlucid's Terms of Service and community guidelines, including the peer-to-peer meeting disclaimer.
- Learn how policies turn into enforcement categories: what counts as what, and why precision matters.
- Exercise: read sample scenarios and label the category and severity, then compare with your mentor's labels.
- Discuss how bias and ambiguity show up in moderation, and how audit trails keep decisions honest.
Week 3: The safety toolkit and escalation judgment
- Study findlucid's safety toolkit: reporting, blocking, ghost and discreet modes, and member controls.
- Learn escalation judgment: what is urgent, what is not, and what information an escalation must include.
- Exercise: draft escalation notes for sample cases and have them reviewed line by line.
- Shadow a report-review session as a silent observer.
Week 4: Evidence, privacy, and Beacon AI boundaries
- Learn evidence preservation: capturing reports accurately without altering or spreading them.
- Study privacy boundaries: trainees only ever see case material inside supervised exercises.
- Learn where Beacon AI helps members (guided self-service) and where a human must step in.
- Phase 1 checkpoint review with your mentor and updated learning plan.
Phase 2: Guided practice (months 2 to 3)
Month 2: Supervised triage exercises
- Practice triage on curated sample content with your mentor: severity labels, category, and recommended next step.
- Every exercise is reviewed and corrected; feedback is documented as your learning record.
- Draft safety acknowledgment messages from approved templates and review them with your mentor.
- Weekly mentor topics: pattern recognition, writing neutral case summaries, knowing when you are unsure.
Month 3: Knowledge-base drafting and escalation practice
- Draft and improve safety help articles as learning exercises, reviewed before any use.
- Practice building a complete, neutral case file: evidence, timeline, category, escalation note.
- Shadow live moderation review with the founder and discuss the decision logic afterward.
- First portfolio piece: a polished sample case file demonstrating your judgment.
Phase 3: Portfolio projects (months 4 to 12)
Policy analysis project (Months 4 to 6)
Pick one policy area, such as harassment or scams, study how three platforms handle it, and write an analysis of what works and what does not.
- Written policy analysis memo with cited examples.
- Recommended improvements, presented to your mentor.
Safety education series (Months 7 to 9)
Draft a short series of member-facing safety education pieces as learning exercises, learning how to teach safety without alarming or blaming members.
- Three draft education pieces with revision notes.
- A note on tone: what you changed and why.
Scam-pattern study (Months 10 to 11)
Study common dating-app scam patterns from public sources and draft a detection guide for a new reviewer, built entirely from supervised exercises and public material.
- Scam-pattern detection guide with examples and red flags.
- Presentation of your guide to your mentor.
Capstone (month 12)
Month 12: present your year of work, including your case file, policy memo, and detection guide, to the founder; discuss how your judgment developed and where you want to go in trust and safety.
Shadowing
- Report triage review with the founder, as an observer.
- Escalation handling: how an urgent case moves through the team.
- Policy drafting: how a rule changes when real cases reveal gaps.
- Member safety communications review: tone, accuracy, and timing.

- Escalation judgment: urgent versus important.
