In commemoration of AIDS Awareness Month, the Schomburg Center celebrates the life and legacy of filmmaker and activist Marlon Riggs, who used the camera to document Black gay life and address the urgency of the AIDS crisis within Black gay communities. The program opens with a screening of Riggs's 1993 short Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien (No Regrets), followed by a conversation on Riggs's legacy and the role of experimental art in the history of AIDS resistance, with Dr. Gervais Marsh (Creative Time) and writer/curator Sur Rodney (Sur). Presented in collaboration with Creative Time. Free and open to the public; ticketed registration.
