Launch of NYU sociologist Lisa M. Stulberg's How to Win a Culture War: LGBTQ+ Social Change Through Pop Culture (University of Chicago Press, October 2026). Drawing on 14 years of research and interviews with 170 culture workers, including actors, musicians, elite athletes, and activists, Stulberg argues that pop culture is a primary arena where LGBTQ+ social change is forged, and lays out the steps culture makers take: become visible, use available platforms, change their workplaces, overachieve, become normal, and stay queer.
